The pattern PDF includes charts for LIZZIE (dainty and flowery) and DARCY (graphic with chevrons lines) as well as a PLAIN chart so you can design your own lace within the crescent shawlette shape.

This shawlette was originally designed for the Knitting Retreat in Bath organized by Stitchtopia in December 2025.

When I think of Bath, two things instantly come to mind: Jane Austen and the Crescent.
So when I decided to design a workshop project for this retreat, I knew it would be a crescent shawlette. A lace shawlette Jane Austen or one of her characters could have worn.
And as my favourite Jane Austen novel has always been Pride and Prejudice, of course my lace shawlette design would be delicate but still quite simple and sensible: a warm winter kerchief for Lizzie Bennet!
This is when it all got out of control… Of course I needed another more manly, graphic version of the Bath Crescent too: Darcy’s!

This is why this pattern includes 3 series of charts:
• the LIZZIE charts
• the DARCY charts
• a series of PLAIN charts so you can design your own lace!
