Loch Lomond
by Ilga Leja
Suggested Yarn: Double knitting or light worsted weight yarn in the following amounts:
Main Colour (MC): 230 m./252 yds.
Contrast Colour (CC): 200 m./219 yds.
Loch Lomond (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Laomainn), named after the famous Loch Lomond in Scotland, is situated in Richmond County, Nova Scotia, on the eastern shore of a lake also named Loch Lomond.
The Loch Lomond scarf plays with the moody colours of the lake, combining them into a plaid reminiscent of Scottish cloth. Worked in one piece from one end to the other with two contrasting handpainted yarns, it captures the flavours of a northern lake, whether in Canada or Scotland.
