Loch Ness is the deepest body of fresh water in Great Britain. Once you move away from the shore, the water is cold, very dark and very foreboding.

Within Loch Ness lives Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster. Nessie sightings have been recorded since the 6th century. The day we were there, the water was perfectly calm……Nessie never broke the surface, but there was this long suspicious bulge in the water.

The pattern cast on is rather involved, as you knit Nessie herself as you cast on.

Short rows are used to shape Nessie and to make the wave portion within the loch.
