Lofoten
Inspired by the Lofoten Islands of Norway, this top down, seamless yoke sweater echoes the beauty of its namesake with an extra cozy design and textural stitch detailing. Designed for oversized comfort, Lofoten incorporates drop stitch stripes in the yoke and garter ridges across the body for eye-catching results. These unique details are paired with color fading to allow you to blend colorways to make this sweater your own. Featuring 14 sizes in this fully written and charted pattern, Lofoten will wrap you in warmth and beauty, ready to take on your next coastal adventure.

How to choose colors: You can choose any 3 colors that go together, but I recommend choosing a speckled/variegated yarn to begin with and then choosing 2 colors that go well with it (probably 2 colors that can be found within that yarn, speckle colors)
Needles
Or size needed to match gauge - ribbing needles should be 2 sizes smaller
-
Main: US 5 (3.75mm) - 16” (40cm) & 32” (81cm) or longer for magic loop on sleeves (or DPN’s)
-
Ribbing: US 3 (3.25mm) - 16” (40cm) & 32” (81cm) or longer for magic loop on sleeves (or DPN’s)
(Most testers found 16” (40cm) more comfortable, but you could also use 24” (60cm) length for beginning of yoke)
OTHER MATERIALS:
stitch marker, yarn needle, scrap yarn.
(Progress keepers are helpful for measuring, but not necessary.)
NOTE: This pattern was updated in April of 2019.
What was changed:
-
The length of the sweater is now a few inches shorter, not cropped, but a more normal length now (the yardage was updated to reflect that change)
-
Added fill in the blank tables in a separate PDF (attached) to make knitting the body fade easier
-
Updated the pattern PDF to be more in line with my current pattern writing style, which will hopefully make it easier to follow
-
Nothing major was changed, other than the length shortened a bit.
