Typically, elephants put on their favorite overalls when they want some comfort, then they jump into your arms for a hug (which doesn’t generally work out well for the human involved). Fortunately, this little pachyderm won’t flatten you when it needs some love. Knit in the round and shaped with short-rows, this cuddly toy requires minimal seaming.

Finished Size 17.5” tall and 14.5” chest circumference.
Yarn Universal Yarns Cotton Supreme (100% cotton; 180 yd / 3.5 oz): #609 grey (MC), 2 skeins; #515 blue (CC), 1 skein.
Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm): set of double-pointed. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers; stitch holders; tapestry needle; polyester fiberfill; two 5⁄8” buttons for eyes; two 5⁄8” buttons for overalls.
Gauge 24 sts and 34 rnds = 4” in St st.
Notes This elephant is worked in the round in one piece beginning with the head; the sections are stuffed as you work. The overalls are worked back and forth in rows to the waist, then joined and worked in the round.
Toy is made with small pieces and is not intended for children younger than three years old.
