FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
To fit an average adult head, 20-21” in circumference. Beret measures 18” circumference at ribbed edge.

NEEDLES

Gauge Needle: US 7 (4.5mm) 16” circular and double-point needles.
Ribbing Needle: US 6 (4mm) 16” circular needle, or one needle size smaller than Gauge Needle.
TOOLS
BOR marker, darning needle. Optional: Seven markers in a different color from BOR marker.
GAUGE
17 sts and 22 rounds = 4” in Stockinette stitch in the round, blocked.
ERRATA, version 1: We’ve clarified the language in the note about adding depth to your beret, under the heading EVEN ROUNDS: “Note: Here is where you can change the overall depth of your beret—seven rounds will yield a piece of about 8” in total depth…Our samples were knit per pattern, with seven even rounds here and 8” of depth from cast-on through the decreases.”
