Just like the great state of Texas, the Lone Star shawl has it all. Lacy cabling, colorwork, nupps, and squishy garter stitch will keep you engaged from start to finish. Short sections and frequent transitions make it an enjoyable and rewarding knit; you’ll be working “just one more row” all night long! Its wide shape and thick, luscious Aran weight yarn add up to a cozy and warm wrap that you’ll want to snuggle in for days.

This pattern, along with ten more Texas-inspired designs, can be found in issue ten of Nomadic Knits, which is available now.

Short Pattern Description: This is a bias knit, rectangular wrap. Two corners are knit separately, increasing every RS. The corners are then joined and work begins on the body of the wrap, increasing on the outer edges and decreasing along the center spine stitch. These sts are then put on hold and the process is repeated for the second half. All sts are then joined in the round to create the center diamond, decreasing along the four diagonals. An i-cord selvedge is incorporated to keep the edges clean and straight.
