Lotus Coasters
This pattern was written to fancy up the plain coaster idea.
Its a beautiful coaster shaped like a blooming lotus flower.
This pattern was designed to be used with three different colours.
Included in the pattern are all the colour combinations you could do with three colours, to give you six individual, yet matching coasters.
Even though I say which yarn I recommend, I know it might not be available where you live. So my only advise is this: The yarn you choose should feel a bit stiffer/harder then a normal cotton. You want the petals of the lotus to stand up and keep there shape.
The amount of yarn you would need is not a lot. I used three rolls of the Elle premier cotton 50g. I made the six coasters and still had a lot left. I did not work out all the weights and precise yardage, as this is a pattern you can make your own choice as to which yarn you choose.
I would recommend to not use to thick of a yarn, as this will increase the size of your coasters. Remember the coaster only needs to be able to take a glass/mug.
But, if you were to use a thicker yarn, it will make a nice big coaster for a vase of flowers.
