This hat was inspired by the Bohus Stickning style of knitting, made popular in the early 20th century in Sweden. My great grandmother was born in this area of Sweden, and I was intrigued by the designs. The patterns and yarn are not traditional to this style of knitting but were the basis of my inspiration. I used only two colors per round, in contrast to Bohus Stickning which used as many as five colors.

NOTE—This hat was originally designed using stash yarn. I purchased a sample box of Palette yarn from Knit Picks many years ago and was looking for a way to use up some of the colors. I used the Silk Cloud to add fluffiness, but this could be eliminated if desired. This pattern would be a good one for using stash yarn.
