I love the bright pop of purple in the spring that comes with the blooming of the Eastern Redbud trees in the midwestern US. These trees also have lovely heart-shaped leaves which were the inspiration for these socks. The heel flap incorporates slipped stitches for strength while carrying the ribbed look down to the base of the heel. The remainder of the sock is worked in ribbing to provide a great fitting sock.
