Monochrome stripes give a modern twist to the classic heart motif on this birth-to-teen sized jacket. A smart inset pocket and the clever non-flipping hem, cuffs and front bands add the final polish. Swap Hudson Bay Company colours for the black and grey, and no Canadian will be able to resist!

Jacket is a very roomy fit; it’s perfect for layers. Worked bottom up in pieces and seamed with modified set-in sleeves. Heart motif on back is worked in intarsia. Front bands and neck edging are applied after assembly.

Substitution Notes
The specified yarn is a smooth, 4-ply worsted weight wool. Wool blends and acrylics would also work well for this project. For the smaller sizes a cotton could also work, but perhaps for the larger sizes it might be too heavy. Choose an easy-to-launder yarn because this sweater will get a lot of wear for more than one year because of the generous positive ease. In fact, you could plan for that and add a little length.

Knit Picks Wool of the Andes (affiliate) would be the perfect substitution for this now discontinued yarn.
