This floaty shawl is a celebration of the yarn, Love Story Einband. The frothy transparency of the yarn is highlighted by working with a single strand for much of the piece, with occasional rows that combine 1 strand each of 2 colors, for a dash of marled texture.

A halo of weightless warm that would also be stunning in a solid color—and no stripe chart to follow in that case!

Materials

Love Story Einband by Hélène Magnússon 25 g skeins, each approx 246 yds (225m), 100% Icelandic lambswool:

1 skein each Raven Black (A), Natural White (B), Basalt Grey (C), moss Green (D), and Viking Rust (E)

Size US 7 (4.5 mm) straight or circular needleor size needed to achieve gauge

Gauge

17 sts and 18 rows = 4” (10 cm) over stockinette stitch, blocked

17 sts and 19 rows = 4 (10 cm) over garter stitch, blocked

Note: Exact gauge is not critical, but if your gauge is larger than called for, you may need more yarn to finish the shawl.
