ERRATA: On the bird charts (Charts D and E), the legend should indicate dots as Knit on the WS and Purl on the RS, while empty boxes are Purl on the WS and Knit on the RS. On the right side of the fabric, the birds should appear in stockinette stitch on a field of reverse stockinette. Row 1 of both charts is a WS row.

Apologies for the mistake!

This pattern was originally published as Pearl Fiber Arts’ contribution to the 2015 Rose City Yarn Crawl, March 5 – 8, 2015 in Portland, Oregon.

Each shop’s pattern(s) will be available free with purchase at that shop during the Rose City Yarn Crawl.

After the Crawl, all patterns will also be available for download individually or as part of our 2015 eBook: Postcards from Portland: 2015 Rose City Yarn Crawl Pattern Collection.

Before it was the Pearl District, the neighborhood was dominated by the Lovejoy Bridge ramp whose columns were decorated with whimsical drawings. Two of the birds depicted on the columns inspired this design. Click for more information.
