The Lovely Top is a seamless, top-down knitted top featuring an elegant circular yoke and a delicate lace pattern on the body that adds movement, lightness, and timeless style.

Designed for warmer days, it’s the perfect garment to pair with jeans, a skirt, or linen trousers. Its relaxed silhouette and thoughtfully engineered construction make it as comfortable to wear as it is enjoyable to knit.

The lace pattern creates a beautiful botanical motif that is easy to memorize and satisfying to knit, while the short rows worked across the back improve the fit, making the finished garment even more comfortable and flattering.

Construction

The Lovely Top is worked seamlessly in one piece.

It is divided into four sections:

• Ribbed neckband worked in the round.
• Circular yoke with short rows and decorative increases.
• Body worked in an elegant lace stitch pattern.
• Sleeves picked up after the body is completed and worked in the round.

It is a relaxing, rhythmic project, perfect for knitters who enjoy watching their garment gradually take shape.

It is recommended to choose a size that provides approximately 15–20 cm (6–8”) of positive ease over your actual bust measurement.

The model shown in the photographs wears Size 2 (123 cm / 48.5” finished bust circumference). She has an 87 cm (34.25”) bust and is 172 cm (5’8”) tall.

Suggested yarn:

• Nepal by Pascuali
• 60% Organic Cotton, 40% Linen
• 50 g = 180 m (197 yds)

You can also substitute any Fingering weight yarn or, at most, a light Sport weight yarn, provided you obtain the required gauge.

Approximate yarn requirements:

• 4 / 4 / 5 / 5 / 6 / 6 / 7 / 7 / 8 skeins
• 720 / 720 / 900 / 900 / 1080 / 1080 / 1260 / 1260 / 1440 meters

Design Details

The circular yoke features:

• Short rows for an improved neckline fit.
• Decorative increases distributed harmoniously around the yoke.
• A clean construction that allows you to try the garment on as you knit.

The body is worked in a delicate lace stitch pattern that is repetitive, easy to memorize, and creates a light, elegant fabric without becoming overly complicated.

The sleeves are picked up after completing the body and worked in the round, finishing with a classic ribbed cuff.

El Lovely Top es un top de punto tejido de arriba hacia abajo (Top-Down), sin costuras, con un elegante canesú circular y un delicado motivo calado en el cuerpo que le aporta movimiento, ligereza y un estilo atemporal.

Es una prenda pensada para los días cálidos, perfecta para combinar con unos vaqueros, una falda o un pantalón de lino. Su silueta relajada y su construcción cuidada hacen que sea un diseño muy cómodo de llevar y tan agradable de tejer como de vestir.

El calado del cuerpo crea un dibujo botánico fácil de memorizar y muy entretenido de tejer, mientras que las vueltas cortas de la espalda mejoran el ajuste para conseguir una prenda mucho más cómoda y favorecedora.

Construcción

El Top se trabaja completamente sin costuras y en una sola pieza.

Se divide en cuatro partes:

• Cuello elástico tejido en circular.
• Canesú circular con vueltas cortas y aumentos decorativos.
• Cuerpo tejido en Punto Fantasía calado.
• Mangas retomadas al finalizar el cuerpo y trabajadas en circular.

Es un proyecto relajante, muy rítmico y perfecto para quienes disfrutan viendo cómo la prenda va tomando forma mientras la tejen.

Detalles del diseño

El canesú incorpora:

• Vueltas cortas para mejorar el ajuste del escote.
• Aumentos decorativos distribuidos de forma armónica.
• Una construcción limpia que permite probarse la prenda durante el proceso.

El cuerpo se trabaja con un delicado Punto Fantasía calado, repetitivo y fácil de memorizar, que aporta textura y ligereza sin resultar complicado.

Las mangas se retoman una vez terminado el cuerpo y se trabajan en circular hasta finalizar con un puño elástico.

El patrón incluye tanto el gráfico como las instrucciones escritas del Punto Fantasía, además de enlaces a vídeo tutoriales para las técnicas especiales.
