The Lovi Slipover is a timeless layering piece with a modern edge. Worked in a wide ribbed texture from the top down, it combines crisp lines with soft structure, creating a garment that feels both relaxed and refined. The deep V-neckline gives it a classic silhouette, while polished 1x1 ribbed edgings add a tailored finish. Designed with thoughtful details, the Lovi Slipover offers 11 different sizes with optional bust darts for a personalized fit. This pattern comes in an inclusive size range from 84–168.5 cm / 33.25–66.25 inches for a finished chest circumference. Knit in DK weight yarn and intended to be worn with 10 cm / 4 inches of positive ease, it’s a versatile piece you’ll return to season after season.

YARN AND YARDAGE
2, 3, 3, (3, 4, 4, 4) 5, 5, 5, 6 skeins of West Yorkshire Spinners Fleece Bluefaced Leicester DK (100 % British wool, 225 m (246 yards) / 100 g) or 430, 590, 620 (670, 780, 830, 900) 950, 1040, 1100, 1200 m / 470, 645, 680 (735, 855, 910, 985) 1040, 1135, 1205, 1310 yards of similar DK weight yarn.

GAUGE
19 sts x 28 rows / rnds of k7, p1 -ribbing worked both flat and in the round on bigger needles (suggested 4.5 mm) is 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in after blocking

NEEDLES
4 mm circular needles (preferred cable length for neckband, hem and cuffs)
4.5 mm circular needles (preferred cable length for body and sleeves)

CHOOSING A SIZE
This slipover is recommended to be worn with positive ease of 10 cm / 4 inches. Depending on your body shape, you can choose your size based on either your upper bust or full bust circumference. If you’re fuller in the bust, there is an option to add bust shaping. When choosing to add bust shaping, I recommended choosing the size based on your upper bust measurement + ease and customizing the fit with bust darts. If you work the slipover without bust shaping, choose the size based on your full bust measurement + ease. The sample is shown in size 5 with 13 cm / 5 inches of positive ease at the upper bust with bust shaping option 1. My upper bust measurement is 105 cm / 41.25 inches, and my full bust is 115 cm / 43.25 inches.

TECHNIQUES
German short rows, increasing on both right and wrong side and working short rows in pattern. Picking up stitches. This is an intermediate knitting pattern, so it is good to have some garment knitting experience under your belt before getting into this one.

A note about sizes 10 & 11
Sizes 10 and 11 have not been test knitted yet. If you’re interested in knitting one of these sizes, I’d love to offer you the pattern for free in exchange for some feedback on your experience. There’s no set deadline, you can knit at your own pace.

Please note that the pattern has been professionally tech edited, so it should be accurate and ready to knit. Still, your notes and insights would be very helpful in refining these larger sizes for future updates.
