Pattern description from Son of Stitch ‘n Bitch: “This mask was designed for my son, who brought home a packing list for a winter campout that included a wool balaclava. The only one we had was old, acrylic, and unraveling. Using the old one as a model, I attempted to design a new one with my son’s input so it would meet three criteria: It could not be too uncool to pack, unpack, or wear; it had to be comfortable; and it had to be warm, too. I made a number of attempts, and this masquadore mask is the final version of our design. Not only does my son love it, but it’s been a hit with every male who’s seen it, from the guy at the UPS counter to the four-year-old boys in the class I teach. It’s made in face-friendly super-soft merino wool, great colors, and is a fun, quick knit. You’ll have lots of inquiries about what you are making with this project.”
