Luck of the Irish a Hula Hoop Design
Sizes: 32 inch doily using worsted weight yarn
Yarn: Knit Picks Brava Worsted 500 100% acrylic, 219 yds (200 meters)/100 grams (3.53 ounces) MC Mint, CC Hunter 1 ball each
Needles: US 7 dpns and/or circular needles for working in the round
Notions: Large eyed tapestry needle for weaving in ends, stitch markers, 88 pony beads
Gauge: 14 sts and 20 rows = 4” 10 cm in St st after wet blocking
Notes
Knit from the center out and attached to a discount store child sized hula hoop.
To attach to the hula hoop, remove any decorative shrink wrap and undo the connection holding the tube into a circle, making sure to retain the connector. Insert the tube through the crochet bind off, from front to back, working counter clockwise. Once all loops are on the hoop, replace the connector and if desired cover join with tape.
Alternatively, use thread and appropriate sized needles for a more conventionally sized doily.
