Lucky Socks
Pattern description from Son of Stitch ‘n Bitch:
“When a man’s facing a dicey situation, he’s got to feel his best from his head down to his toes, and these socks will take care of that last part. Knit in a washable wool/nylon blend, they’re just the thing for a day at the races, an important meeting with the boss, or a night out on the town. The dice show lucky number 7 in every direction, and they’re slyly knit into the leg using the intarsia and stranded methods together, working back and forth on straight needles. After that, you go on in the round, seaming up the leg at the end. The ‘afterthought’ heel is added on at the end, too, which means you can easily replace it if it ever wears out. They’re fun to knit, hard-wearing, and practically guarantee the wearer all kinds of Vegas-style luck. It’s a win-win situation.”
