The Lucy Shawl is a small triangular kerchief designed to be worn in multiple ways. It comes in two sizes: Size 1 is a slimmer, shorter version that wraps comfortably around the neck once, while Size 2 is longer and allows for a cozy double wrap.

Lucy is knitted in an easy textural stitch pattern made entirely of knit and purl stitches, making it a relaxing and approachable project while still offering beautiful visual interest.

The shawl begins at the one tip, increases on every 6th right-side row until the full width is reached, and then decreases symmetrically back to the opposite tip. The size is easy to customize by working additional pattern repeats, making it simple to adjust both the width and overall size to suit your preference. A versatile, satisfying knit that’s just as enjoyable to make as it is to wear.

Designed with stash knitting in mind, the Lucy Shawl is perfect for using up odd balls and leftover skeins. You can knit it with two strands of lace weight yarn for a light and airy feel, fingering weight held together with mohair for a soft halo and touch of luxury, or a light DK weight yarn for more structure and crisp stitch definition. You can also work it with just one strand of fingering weight cashmere for an airy and lightweight version.

The stitch pattern is charted only, but this is a good pattern to learn how to knit from charts, as it only has knit and purl stitches.
