Lunar
Lunar is a beautiful, wonderfully drape-y crescent shawl that uses simple textures, contrast between a single strand and a doubled strand of yarn, a bit of short row shaping, and color blocking to give you a geometric piece to grace your wardrobe!
Size: 94 inches/240 cm along the top edge X 20 inches/50 cm along the center point. Shawl size can vary, depending on individual knitter’s gauge, yarns used, and blocking preferences.
Recommended yarn: Three colors of fingering weight yarn in solid/semi-solid/tonal/speckle colors.
Sample used: MJ Yarns One Ewe (100% Merino; 380 yd/ 347m per skein) in Black Diamond (Black; MC) , Chariot (Light Purple; CC1), and Corundum (Dark Purple; CC2)
Yardage: MC: 760 yd / 695 m; CC1: 380 yd / 347 m; CC2: 380 yd / 347 m
Needles: One set of US size 9 / 5.5 mm 32-40 in/ 80-100 cm circular needles.
Gauge: 4-4.5 stitches to the inch in Garter Stitch with the yarn held doubled on US size 9/ 5.5. mm needles.
Notions: Stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle.
