This pillow accompanies the Stitch Anatomy article on Seed Stitch in this issue of Cast On. The front side of the pillow is my own adaptation of the OXO cable. I’ve filled the Os with seed stitch. Notice how this drastically changes the look of the cable. The filled circles remind me of the dried seed pods left behind on the Lunaria or Money (Silver Dollar) Plant.

The reverse side shows a variation of seed stitch known as double seed stitch. It shows how seed stitch and its related patterns form a single fabric. Because the multiple and repeat are so small, balance both horizontally and vertically doesn’t matter as it does with larger stitch patterns.

I’ve chosen to use a Merino yarn because it gives a good stitch definition to these textured fabrics.
