Lunch With a Friend
Each week, my best friend and I get together and have a bite to eat and a couple of hours to knit and chat. These few hours are one of Life’s Little Luxuries that we cherish, often finding an excuse to fit a second lunch into the week.
The Lunch With a Friend cowl is a design that came out of one of our discussions. We looked at the wrong side of some wide welted ribbing, and loved the thin stockinette stitch line that was created.
Taking this as inspiration, this cowl uses that stitch as a base and adds an undulating lace stitch to each side. It is knit in one piece with a provisional cast-on, then the ends are grafted together for a seamless cowl..

The Life’s Little Luxuries Collection is a series of designs that celebrate the little things in life that bring a smile to our face. Named for these little things, each design uses just one or two skeins of a special hand-dyed yarn, making them perfect quick projects for using a treasured skein. The designs will be released periodically, usually with two or three patterns being released at a time. They are priced at just $5.00 each, and will always be sold with a Buy 2, Get 1 Free promotion. No strings attached, no coupon codes, just put three patterns in your cart, and one will be free. Afterall, it is the little things in life that make it special.
You can purchase the patterns as single pattern downloads, or as the e-book. At this point, the e-book is priced at $15 (to reflect getting 3 patterns and two free), and includes the five patterns currently available in this collection. It will remain priced at $15 until new designs are added to the collection, at which point the price will rise to a maximum of $25. Those who purchase the e-book at $15 will receive all future patterns added to the collection without any additional cost, making this a great savings over time.
