Lundey Tam
This pattern is also available for purchase via PayHip or LoveCrafts.
Puffins with their distinct colouring and quirky appearance are extremely endearing, earning their nickname ‘Clowns of the Sea’.
The pattern is knitted from the brim and is available in six sizes. The pattern is only worked in two shades at any one time. Colour details on the beak and feet are added to one Puffin motif using duplicate stitch after the tam is knitted.
Lundy Island in the UK is home to a large population of these birds, and the name Lundy is said to come from the Old Norse Lundey, translated as Puffin (Lund) Island (-ey).
