The diamond and ring motifs of the Luxe Wedding Blanket were inspired by a bride who planned her winter wedding on the anniversary of her parents’ wedding day. They were married in an old limestone and stained-glass chapel with beautiful wooden rafters, hanging glass and wrought iron lanterns, and intricate carved woodwork. The intimate ceremony was followed by a posh reception party in the beautiful 100-year-old stone building next door. This blanket made a lovely gift for the bride!

This lush velvet update on the traditional wedding ring quilt design requires 9 cakes of Lion Brand Vel-Luxe yarn or 2,214 yards (2,025 meters) of any worsted weight yarn and a 5 mm hook.

This is an intermediate pattern that requires chain, slip stitch, single crochet stitches, half double crochet stitches, bobble stitches, and reverse single crochet stitches (crab stitch). Pattern is written in US terms and includes explanations of all stitches and abbreviations. US and metric measurements given.

Finished blanket dimensions are about 46 by 69 inches (117 by 175 cm) when using worsted weight yarn and a 5 mm hook. This is a great size for a couch throw or twin/single bed. Pictured here on a full size/ double bed.
