This stranded pillow pattern is the final release in a series of 12 patterns that form my Canadian Art Deco Knits e-book. You can buy this pattern individually or as part of the Canadian Art Deco Knits e-book.

This design was inspired by the owls on what used to be a bank in downtown Toronto. The bank branch was one of many designed by John MacIntosh Lyle. Lyle’s designs frequently incorporated native Canadian plants and animals.

The pillow is worked in the round from the bottom up and grafted closed over a pillow form.

This worsted weight pillow used two colors of Sweet Georgia Yarns Superwash Worsted (200yd/183m per 115g skein, 100% merino)

  • 2 skeins Charcoal (used 210yd/192m)
  • 1 skein Silver (used 182yd/166m)

This project used just a little bit more than one skein of the dark color and about 90% of the skein of the light color, so be sure to check gauge and confirm you will have enough yarn.
