Lyspunkt
The shawl is worked from the center at the neck and down and out toward the edge.
Increases are worked at both ends of the row as well as a part of the pattern rows.
The pattern is comprised of small and large “folds” that are formed by staggered increases and “stacked” decreases.
Note that a lot of stitches are increased during the pattern repeat, which are decreased again on a later row.
The stitch count thus varies quite a bit as you work the pattern
The inspiration for the shawl is the iconic Le Klint 172S pendant with its organic folds that flow around the lamp and makes the light change nuances depending on the fold. In the shawl the folds are represented in the changing nuances and the way they are knit so they almost fold in and out of each other. The open increases let the light shine through, while the lines of the decrease create shadows in the pattern.
