Sorry everyone, there is an error with the Left Hand instructions in this pattern.
After the rib is worked on the left hand the following instructions need to be worked:

Left Hand
Work as for right hand mitten to end of rib patt.
Change to 4mm (US 6) needles and work 4 rows in st st and mock cable rib patt setting sts as folls:
Patt row 1 (RS): K20, P2, RC, P2, K2, P2, RC, P2, K4.
Patt row 2: K1, P3, (K2, P2) 3 times, K2, P19, K1.
Patt row 3: K20, P2, K2, P2, RC, P2, K2, P2, K4.
Patt row 4: K1, P3, (K2, P2) 3 times, K2, P19, K1.
These 4 rows set the sts for the st st and mock cable rib patt.
Work these 4 rows once more.

Cont to work mitten pattern from shape thumb.
