Mabel’s Sweater
Inspired by Only Murders In The Building
Sometimes I pursue designs that are all about a fresh construction or an interesting technique. And other times, I design to fill a need in my wardrobe.
This sweater, even though it looks basic, was inspired by a popular TV series. As soon as I saw Mabel, the main character, show up on episode 1 with a yellow, waffle texture pullover I just knew I needed to replicate it.
You’d think that after so many years of knitting I would instantly know how to make such a stitch, but it actually look a bit of experimentation to come up with what I think is the perfect Mabel Sweater.
THIS IS NOT BRIOCHE! DON’T WORRY!
This pullover is knitted from the top-down in one piece. It has raglan sleeves and a subtle neck shaping. The neckband is picked up and knitted once the sweater is finished.
The textured pattern is a mix of simple ribbing and Fisherman’s Rib.
