I (finally) met Alice O’Reilly of Backyard Fibers at Rhinebeck last year. She enthusiastically shared a snippet of her latest rare breed yarn, spun from Santa Cruz fiber.
I was amazed at the sproing and loft, and so excited that this project would bring awareness of another breed.
Later that day, Jenn and I were walking through the Rare Breed Barn, where we met Mac, a Santa Cruz lamb. He’s now part of her flock and our extended Rhinebeck family.
