NOTE: The heavy lace weight yarn is held double for this pattern. You could also substitute a dk or sport weight yarn held single (as long as you can achieve gauge), if you do this, you will cut your yardage estimate in half.

Notes
This sweater is knit from the bottom up, holding lace weight yarn double. The body is worked in the round to the front neck, then stitches are bound off and the body is worked flat to the underarms. Stitches are bound off for the underarms, from here the fronts and back are worked separately. The shoulders are shaped with short rows, and are seamed using three needle bind off. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up at the underarm and knit down to the cuffs. Stitches are picked up along the back neck and short rows and worked in pattern to create a shawl collar.
