The Madelon Shawlette is a quick, easy introduction to lace knitting. Flecks of lace and a touch of texture dot the wide border of this sweet little shawl. It’s the perfect project for that one skein of luxury fingering yarn that’s waiting in your stash. The length of the shawl may be increased or decreased by adding or subtracting repeats of the pattern in order to use up the entire skein.
This shawlette is an asymmetrical, elongated triangle that grows from one point toward the opposite side. It begins with just a few stitches and as it grows, it forms a wide, lace check border and later adds on a stockinette body along the top. This pattern will look great in solid, semi-solid, or lightly variegated colorways.
Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a heavier weight yarn or larger needles will affect the size of the finished shawlette.
This pattern contains both charts and written instructions.
