Maeflower Wash & Face Cloth
A textured crochet pattern designed specifically for sensitive skin.
Thank you for checking out my work! I’m Sarah, the creator behind Maeflower Creations. This pattern was born out of pure personal necessity. As someone living with psoriasis, I know exactly how difficult it is to find materials that don’t irritate or flame up the skin.
To be entirely fair, these are the only cloths that touch my skin today. I use these exact cloths myself every single day because I designed them to provide a light, effective exfoliation while remaining incredibly soft. The magic is in the specific stitch pattern, which creates tiny, gentle bumps across the surface of the cloth. This unique texture provides a wonderfully soothing scrubbing action—even when I need to literally scrub, it doesn’t hurt.
To protect sensitive skin, the choice of yarn is everything. This project is optimized for Drops cotton yarns (like Drops Paris and Drops Safran), which carry the prestigious OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification. This means the yarn is completely free from harmful chemicals, making your finished cloths completely safe and gentle for delicate faces and skin types.
Yarn & Yardage Requirements:
Approx. 245 yards (224 m) if using a Sport/4-Ply weight cotton like Drops Safran. Held double.
Approx. 115 yards (105 m) if using an Aran/Worsted weight cotton like Drops Paris.
A Note for International Makers: Having lived in Germany for over 30 years, I am completely fluent in German! If you ever have any questions while working through my patterns, please feel free to send me a message in either English or German—I am always happy to help!
