At last, your own little magnetic microbes to add a touch of geek chic to the metallic surface of your choice.

Here’s hoping they also remind you (or your loved one) to clean the refrigerator once in a while!

The Magnetic Microbe knitting pattern gives you clear step by step instructions and it only involves knitting flat.

This pattern is suitable for a beginner/intermediate knitter and is super quick, so it’s a great housewarming or secret santa gift knit. The finished microbe is about 1.5 inches wide.

What you will need:

2 knitting needles (US3/3.25mm or as per tension advice)
5-10g fluffy/eyelash DK or Chunky yarn (e.g. Bergere de France Plume)
Small but strong magnet (optional)
Two black toy safety eyes – 6mm
Polyfil toy stuffing
1 tapestry needle for finishing

Skills used: Casting on and off, Increasing, Decreasing

Stitches used: Stocking stitch
