This clever design is made up of lacy squares you can crochet on the go and then sew together. Depending on how many squares you stitch and how you arrange them, you can create a sleeveless tunic, a shorter top, a longer beach tunic, a sleeved tunic, or even a poncho!

The size of the squares is what determines the size of the top. I used different hook sizes for different top sizes, so for instance, you could probably get a child’s size top from this pattern by using a much smaller hook! Here’s the hook sizes for the top sizes:

Size H/8 (5mm) hook for xsm tunic
Size I/9 (5,5mm) hook for size small
Size J/10 (6mm) hook for sizes medium and 2X-3X
Size L/11 (8mm) hook for size L/1X

You may wonder why the medium and 2X-3X require the same hook size. They do use the same hook, but you make more squares for the 2X-3X.

See the book to find all the different ways you can put the squares together to form different projects!
