Mahalo is the Hawaiian word for ‘thank you’. My word of the month for the May (the month I wrote this pattern) was ‘thankful’. I’m thankful for my family and our healthy minds and bodies. I’m thankful for amazing friends and for our home. I’m thankful that we have enough to eat, access to health care and opportunities for education and self actualization. I’m thankful to be part of the phenomenal fibre community and to be able to practice my joy everyday and call it my job. I’m thankful for you!
Mahalo features ribbing down the back of the leg and onto the heel flap and an easy to memorize lace pattern on the front of the leg and top of the foot. The heel flap, gussets and instep are worked simultaneously (no gusset sts to pick up!) and the gussets feature reverse stockinette. The toe is grafted closed with Kitchener stitch.
