Tams were worked with 5 colours of sport weight yarn.

The Maiden Tam as shown is a 10 inch Tam. It starts with patterned hem and finishes with a flat top.

Brim options such as a hem or corrugated ribbing are included in the pattern. ThisTam has instructions for making it more of a slouchy as well.
