The Girl Scout song…

“Make new friends, but keep the old,
One is silver, the other gold”

Ticker knits booklet # 3 has SIX patterns. Ticker Knits involves knitting the same word across and then stacking the words. This pullover uses the verse from the Girl Scout song, ‘Make New Friends’ - an enduring classic. the sweater body and sleeves are worked from the hem & cuff up respectively, then they are joined together on one needle to work the yoke. It’s a classic construction - the only difference is that you are knitting graphed words; You just stop knitting the word image at the end of the round and begin anew. There’s an ‘off’ seam because language is not symmetric, but they eye goes to discerning the words’ meanings and therefore little is any attention is paid to the seam.

Valley Superwash DK is the perfect yarn for this project - it has distinct colors which make for great color definition and the quality of merino is superb.
