YARN ALTERNATIVES
Any heavy DK or light aran-weight wool or wool-rich yarn
will work here to create a warm and cosy beanie.

TENSION
Work 18dc blo and 20 rows to measure 10 x 10cm/4 x 4in
using a 4.5mm hook, or size required to obtain correct tension.
The rib effect will work better if worked tightly, so you may
have to go down to a lower sized hook, therefore check
your tension carefully before beginning.

MEASUREMENTS
Hat circumference: 35 (40, 45, 50)cm/13¾ (15¾, 17¾, 19¾)in approximately to fit 40 (45, 50, 55)cm/15¾ (17¾, 19¾, 21¾) head circumference approximately.

Sizes are approximately toddler (child, adult female, adult male). Measure around the fullest part of the head, roughly around the
forehead – and choose the size that is slightly smaller than your head as the hat will stretch to fit.
