Mama and Baba Doll
I’m so glad you’ve found my stylised mother and baby doll pattern!
I designed these with a modern twist and plenty of play value—just right for today’s families.
The removable sling makes them extra fun for little hands (or for display if you’re like me and love a handmade touch around the house).
With simple stitches and lots of character, this pattern is a joy to knit. I hope making these dolls brings as much happiness to your day as it did to mine!
Each doll is brought to life with playful knit stitches, giving them wonderful texture and a unique, handcrafted look.
The mother doll stands at around 30cm tall, with simple patterned stitches adding detail and character to both mother and baby.
This pattern is a joyful project for intermediate knitters who love trying new stitch techniques and bringing creative flair to their work. Both dolls are knitted flat using straight needles, making the process approachable and familiar.
The mother’s hair is crafted with a garter stitch wig, her body is shaped with a diamond seed stitch, and the sling is created in basic seed stitch and fastened with a button for extra charm.
Embroidered facial features add personality to each doll. Throughout the pattern, you’ll use knit, purl, kfb (knit front and back), and k2tog (knit two together) stitches—wonderful basics for building your knitting confidence.
