A Yarn Fairy original, this triangular lace shawl takes it’s name from the Gothic mansion which haunts a young bride in the novel, Rebecca. The many, all original lace patterns riddled throughout, were taken from images of gates, chandeliers, window panes as well as the sea which Manderley perches over.

Worked from the neck down, in either Yarn Fairy Manderley by the Sea, a bright happy color or overdyed in black for a more Gothic look. This shawl will produce a lovely Gothic remembrance, to a novel which is hard to forget. Creative enough to keep a long time shawl knitter hooked, yet simple enough for a beginner. Beads will highlight the shine of the crystal, curl of the gate and add emphasis to design elements.

Supplies:
Yarn Fairy 2 ply lace weight, merino superwash in Manderely by the Sea or Gothic Manderely, 2 skeins of 870 yards each, 1740 yards
Beads: Different for each color way. Choose from two center back panels, one heavily beaded in contrasting color beads or the other using lace to form the shape instead. Kits can be special ordered pm me at wmdress@sbcglobal.net
Gothic: Aqua silver lined, size 8/0 seed bead, quantity 870 or 370 Swarovski crystal, aquamarine AB 4mm faceted round, quantity 160
Swarovski crystal, aquamarine AB 6mm faceted round:edging, 28 quantity
Crystals can be replaced with Czech pressed glass if desired.

Sea: Metallic Iris Green or Peacock Rainbow, size 8/0 seed bead 870 or 370 Swarovski crystal, Denim or Dark Blue AB 4mm faceted round, quantity 160 Swarovski crystal, Denim or Dark Blue AB 6mm faceted round: edging, 28 Crystals can be replaced with Czech pressed glass if desired.
Crochet Hook: size US 16/.060mm for placement method of beading found here
Gauge: not crucial for this project about 5-6 sts per inch blocked over lace.
Finished Measurements: 50” from nape down back, 84” wingspan
