MANHATTAN BLOUSE

Needless to say, I was super excited when some super talented knitters suggested this blouse should be named Manhattan Blouse after Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw. Well of course! I remember Carrie as a daring, stylish, fearless and funky woman with an exquisite style with plenty of colours, so of course I had to pay tribute to the famous character from the show.

The Manhattan Blouse is both retro and modern, funky and colourful. It’s knit sideways, starting with the left sleeve, followed by first the front and then the back, and ending at the right sleeve. The blouse has ¾ length sleeves with decorative glitter edges and a boatneck cut.

The blouse is knit in 6 different colours; I recommend choosing 3-4 colours very close to each other and a darker and lighter contrast colour. One of the colours will be used to the moss st edges and should tie the whole thing together. The pattern comes in 4 different sizes.

I hope, you’ll enjoy the #manhattanblouse as much as I have enjoyed designing it!

MATERIALS

I have used six different Silkmohair colourways from indie dyer By Emra (who is not on Ravelry yet), all used as double strands. Plus a skein of Kremke Stellaris to give a glittery effect to the moss stitch edges and some of the stripes.

I have used one skein of 50 g in each colour.
