Maple
Maple leaves are famous for their beautiful colour transitions; use a variegated or tonal yarn in your favourite leaf hue to create a one of a kind hat.
Finished hat measures: 21 (23¼)”/ 53.5 (59)cm around at the fullest part and is 8¾ (9¾)”/ 22 (25)cm deep to fit a medium (large) adult head.
Hat is knit from the brim up, in the round, with decreases in even quarters on the crown.
Materials:
Malabrigo Arroyo, 100% superwash Merino; 335y/ 306m; 3.5oz/ 100g. ½ skein each of Immortal or Cereza (MC) and Natural (CC).
Tools:
US 3 (3.25mm) 16”/40cm circular and double pointed needles or size necessary to obtain gauge; US 1½ (2.5mm) 16”/40cm circular or a few sizes smaller than gauge needle; 4 differing stitch markers; tapestry needle.
Gauge:
29 sts/27 rnds over 4”/10cm in stranded stockinette in the round on larger needle, blocked.
