Maple is a cosy infinity scarf that’s easy to wear - infinity scarves are a favourite of mine as they don’t get in the way and they stay put.

Maple was created to fill my desire for a chunky, relaxing project to knit.
Maple features broken moss stitch all over, providing texture and interest whilst knitting but also being simple enough to create that you can chat at the same time. For newer knitters, this is an excellent introduction to the texture you can easily create just by knitting and purling.

Knit Maple in multiple colours so you have one to match every outfit in your wardrobe. The perfect thing to cast-on when you’re after a cosy, chunky knit to relax with.

Note on Technique:
Maple is knitted in-the-round, however, the first 3 rows are worked flat to reduce anxiety over twisted stitches. With a large stitch count stitches twist very easily, with this method it’s not a problem and you can enjoy your knitting!

Finished Size:
Maple measures approx. 15.5cm wide with a 120cm circumference finished

Gauge:
Maple is worked holding two strands of DK/8ply yarn together at once. This creates a thick fabric and adds extra texture.

14sts x 28 rows on 6mm needles = 10cm/4” worked in Maple (broken moss stitch) pattern with yarn held double

Needles:
6mm circular needle of 100 - 120cm length or size needed to obtain gauge.

Yarn
Option A: KPC Novomerino DK
4 x 50g balls in your chosen colour - sample worked in Mist (200g / 428 metres total)

Option B: WOOLganic Merino 8ply
4 x 50g balls in your chosen colour - sample worked in Grapefruit Moon (200g / 432 metres total)

NOTE:
If substituting yarn, pay close attention to the meterage. Maple was designed to use the full amount of yarn - you’ll only have the tiniest amount left over so don’t substitute yarn with less than 428 metres total.
