Where do all my potholders go? Either I can’t find them because they have transformed into pot separators, or I can’t find my pot separators because they have turned back into potholders.

I could just buy more potholders, but it’s much more fun to knit something—something that looks different from potholders so they won’t get mixed up anymore. My solution is dedicated cookware separators.

Maple Leaf Separators are patchwork blocks composed of small squares worked in mitered garter stitch. Using a reversible pick up along the edges of completed squares means there are no seams or seam allowances, so essentially there is no front or back. Two charts are provided so you can knit dark leaves on a light background or vice versa.
