Maple Sock is a sock covered in cables. It’s a top-down knitted sock over 68 stitches with classic heel flap. My choice of color is inspired by the beauty of the maple leaf on a crisp Swedish October morning. The pattern is ideal for single color or semi color fingering yarn. It’s a one size pattern but there are tips for size modifications regarding width and length. You will use both charts and written instructions to guide you through the project.
Although 68 stitches might sound like a lot of stitches, have in mind that cables shrink the circumference compared to stockinette knitting. In the pattern, there is guidance for DPN’s but feel free to work with cables and magic loop.
Enjoy! :slightly_smiling_face:

Size: One size pattern of a foot circumference of 20-23 cm around. Size may be modified by changing cast-on sts (by multiples of 2 stitches, 1 stitch on each side).

Yarn: Fingering weight or sock yarn, approx. 400m/100g.
Yardage: Total yardage for two socks is 300 m (with no extra leg length).

Shown in: 4 ply Delux sock yarn, 85% superwash extra fine merino wool and 15% nylon, 400m/100g.

Gauge: 28 stitches in stockinette sts = 10 cm. Gauge will affect the result (size and yardage).

Needles: A set of double-pointed needles (DPN) or circular needles working with magic loop in size 2.25 mm (or needle size
needed to obtain gauge)

Extras: one BOR marker, one extra marker, one cable needle, one darning needle to weave in yarn ends and tape measure
