My design for a textured yoke cardigan which appeared in a 2018 issue of The Knitter magazine, proved to be popular - the pattern for this garment is now available on Ravelry here - and as I am a big fan of berets, I decided to design one using the same simple, texture stitches and yarn.
Sadly the shade of Nest yarn used for the original cardi seems to be discontinued, but this lovely red makes a great substitiute.
Any DK yarn would work - a yarn with wool content will ensure the hat keeps it’s shape and will highlight the texture stitches.

The beret pattern comes in one size, but should fit a range of head sizes.
