Needles: 3.5 mm/US4 and 3.0 mm/US3 for your preferred method of working body and sleeve circumferences in the round or needle size to obtain gauge
Blocked gauge: 27 sts and 30 rows = 10 cm 4” in Marilyn Pattern with larger needles (or needle size to obtain gauge)
Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, stitch holder/waste yarn
Construction notes: The Marilyn Top is a round yoke sweater, which is knit seamlessly top-down. First the neck is cast on and formed using Short-Rows. After completing the yoke, the short sleeves are separated from the body and finished with twisted ribbing. Around the garment, a repeating cherry fair-isle pattern is worked, which gives the Top a happy summer vibe. Body and sleeve length are both easily adjustable.
Inspiration: This pattern was inspired by Marilyn Monroe.
Her signature cherry-red lipstick and her strong quote have inspired me to a happy Cherry patterned Shirt.
Strong and unapologetically bold.
I am selfish, impatient and a little insecure.
I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle.
But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”
