Marjorie Mohair Stole
In this stole, beauty meets practicality. The color of the yarn takes center stage, yet behind the scenes, the mohair is kept light by the use of openwork and the pattern is kept simple with only two rows to memorize. Scalloped edges adorn all sides of the stole, eliminating any need for edge work.
If you are the type of knitter that falls asleep when knitting stocking stitch but reach for the lifelines when knitting intricate lace patterns, worry not. This pattern, inspired by Barbara Walker’s Herringbone Lace from A Treasury of Knitting Patterns, will force you to do neither. Some attention to detail is required to ensure the yarnovers and decreases land in the correct spots. Yet, it is not intricate. If you can count to two, you can master this pattern, making this a great beginner lace project.
