Marny is knit in pieces that go in different directions. The lower body is a single piece knit sideways. A single, large cable is worked along one side of this piece. It is along this side that you’ll pick up stitches to knit the rest of the vest upwards - the right front first, then the back, and finally the left front. As you begin each upper body piece you’ll leave a gap of .5″ for the armhole.

After decreasing for the shoulders, you’ll continue in garter stitch for the collar. Armhole borders are knit separately, folded over, and sewn into place.
