Elongated dip stitches fan out in gentle waves across the hem of the Marsh Grass cardigan like tufts of vegetation. The flare of bishop sleeves adds a fun twist to a traditional, classic garment.
The Marsh Grass cardigan is knit from the bottom upwards with set-in sleeves and a rounded crew neckline.
To help with fit, between 1-3” / 2.5-7.5 cm of width are shifted from the back to the fronts for sizes 5-15 to provide more room in the front.
The pattern suggests a body length of 12” / 30.5 cm to the underarms for a cropped look. Knitters may choose to shorten or lengthen the body by adjusting the length of the stockinette section following the patterning at the hem. Please note that changing the cardigan’s length will affect the amount of yarn needed and the number of buttons.
The dip stitch pattern is both written and charted.
Here’s a video about how to make the one-row buttonholes.
